CEA estimates demand of Electricity to grow around 800 GW by 2030. To cater the demand government has ambitiously set targets to achieve generation targets, of which 54% would be shared only by renewables. Government bulls to meet 350 GW of solar and 140 GW of wind by 2030 by bidding at least 30 GW of solar and 10 GW of wind every year.

Next decade is envisaged to bring in a huge opportunity for domestic & International renewable energy developers in renewable energy segment both for wind and solar. Developers must reap evolving business opportunity in the segment.

For execution of renewable projects as per defined timelines, Government must also mull over common woes of renewable sector like matching commissioning of evacuation facilities with project commissioning schedules, land acquisitions, PPA tie-ups and timely payment from discoms. Carting-off bottlenecks is poised to encourage more of private participation in segment.
